Match Review LS3 | Selangor FC 4-0 Negeri Sembilan FC | Secured Three Points

Selangor FC ended the 3rd match of the 2024/25 Super League with a big 4-0 win, against Negeri Sembilan FC at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya before the league takes a break for the FIFA international calendar.

Yesterday was the second win without conceding for the Selangor FC squad with four goals scored. Two new imports, Ronnie Fernandez and Reziq Banihani scored the opening goal in the 58th minute and the closing 90th minute of the #SFCNSE match yesterday. Two more goals were scored by two imported players who remained with the Merah Kuning squad, Noor Al-Rawabdeh in the 68th minute and Yohandry Orozco in the 75th minute.

In addition, according to the statistics, the Red Giants have dominated the match with 63% ball possession, 87% pass accuracy, 29 attempts and 7 corner kicks.

The two wins at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, brought a smile to Nidzam Jamil, Head Coach of the Red Giants. According to him, the attitude and character of the players in the second half, "Two different scenes between the first half and the second half but I am happy with the improvement they showed. Overall, the players have shown the attitude and character to want a better result after being tied in the first half," he summarised about the #SFCNSE match.

From yesterday's #SFCNSE match, some important things are worth noting, such as:-

  1. Two new Selangor FC import players open goal accounts

New striker Ronnie Fernandez and young Jordan national squad striker Reziq Banihani scored their first goals in the 58th and 90th minutes respectively in the #SFCNSE match.

Nidzam Jamil believes that the hard work of the Red Giants number 9 striker will bear great results, "Ronnie Fernandez is always involved in the team's movements throughout the match both without the ball and with the ball. I think as long as he continues to work hard to close the space defensively and attack well, he will always have a way to score, like today he scored one."

In addition, he was happy with the attack combination yesterday, "I think the combination between Mukhairi Ajmal and Reziq Banihani shows a good combination of characters. As proof, a good pass from Mukhairi Ajmal to Reziq Banihani ended with the team's last goal in the 90th minute,"

  1. Man of The Match, Yohandry Orozco shows his fangs again.

The player from Venezuela has been the stinger of the team when he almost scored two in the #SFCNSE match. He scored a goal in the 75th minute and an assist to Noor Al-Rawabdeh's goal in the 68th minute. His first goal in the 47th minute after receiving an excellent assist from Fazly Mazlan was denied because VAR confirmed the goal was offside. So far, he has scored 12 goals and 13 assists while with the Merah Kuning squad.

Nidzam Jamil also praised Yohandry Orozco's performance and he liked what Orozco offered to the team in yesterday's match, according to his answer to the media.

  1. Safuwan Baharudin's 50th appearance

The captain of the team, Safuwan Baharudin has reached his 50th appearance equal to 4,286 minutes he has played throughout with Selangor FC. Carrying a huge responsibility this season, he always makes sure his teammates stay focused in training and matches including himself. As proof, he was named Man of The Match for last week's match against Kedah Darul Aman FC. Safuwan is a very experienced player and capable of performing in several positions, his every move is very timely especially in breaking the attack from the opponent. So far, Safuwan has recorded five goals in his net account.

In addition, the management of Selangor FC would also like to praise the attitude of the Red Giants supporters who together take care of cleanliness and ensure that the new seats at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, are well looked after throughout the two matches that have taken place. We are working to add more convenience to you all. The attitude you show, we really appreciate. Thank you, Red Yellow.

Selangor FC wishes the team success to achieve more success in the next matches.
